Corner Swanston & Franklin

I took this photo on 14th January 2017. Two days later Franklin Street (on the right) was blocked off. A hole that is deep as an 11 storey building is high (more than 35 m) will be dug here to allow the CBD North station to be built. Eventually there will be a station entrance in this bit of Franklin Street which will be permanently blocked to traffic.

These buildings will become one of the work sites for the CBD South station in the Melbourne Metro Rail Project. MacDonald's, Souvenir Collection, Hungry Jack's, Commonwealth Bank and KFC will be demolished.
