The day before the trek. began
JB In Launceston prior to our departure for the start of the walk. The plastic bag might represent items he had removed from his pack the night before, about to be posted home.
Freash and ready to go
Me, prior to the start of the walk. Interestingly the airline tag suggests we flew Ansett to Hobart, even though my memory is that we reached the northern start of the walk from Launceston.
Start of the walk
Crater Lake: the start of the odyssey. ??? Or Dove Lake??? A (worse quality) photo taken near this spot has a sign pointing rightwards for Lake Lilla (1hr) Marions Lookout (3hr) and Ballroom forest (3hr).
Dove Lake
Crater (or Dove???) Lake looking towards (I think) Marions Lookout.
Somewhere a bit high
With a lake far below.
Definitely Dove Lake: it's shape matches the map.
Outcrop
Unknown outcrop on the first day's walking.
Flowers
There are lots of flowers on the Overland Track in December January.
More flowers
Unknown Bluff number 28
I feel that with some more research I ought to be able to name this peak.
Walking, walking, walking
I think this is still day 1. It was a day that was so hard it almost killed me!
More peaks
JB
Loaded up and cheerful. Maybe day two.
Me
Loaded up and in the middle of telling JB how to press the shutter on my camera.
Kitchen Hut & Waterfall Valley Hut.
I'm guessing the invisible sign (pointing directly away) is for the Lake Rodway Track.
Unknown view
Another plain, another peak.
(Or maybe even the same one I photographed the pevious day).
Somewhere
Another sign with optimistic travel times.
Before or after Barn Bluff. Maybe I could work it out from the direction of the shadows? We found it took us at least double the time to reach a destination than any sign indicated.
A sweeping vista
Random bluff
Camping
Cloudy bluff
