La Dordogne from Domme 1993
This photo was taken in spring, so the trees are greener than the similar photograph I took from the same spot in 2013.
La Dordogne from Domme 2016
This is a digital photograph taken in February 2016 with a Canon 5D Mk II. The spot and focal length of this photograph are remarkably similar to 1993. Many of the trees are still without leaves (due to the time of year).
Mont St Michel 1993
Taken from the causeway in 1993 at dusk, after the lights had been lit but before the sky darkened.
Mont St Michel 2013
This is a high dynamic range photograph made by merging several digital photographs with different exposures to preserve highlight and shadow detail. The causeway on which I was standing was the last bit of remaining causeway that was removed soon after as a long low bridge replaced it.

Strasbourg Cathedral 2013
Dinant, Belgium 1993
My grandfather was billeted in Dinant towards the end of WW1. He brought home a photograph of the town taken just before the Germans burnt the cathedral spire during the war. I'll post a scan when I can tin order to provide a 1910ish to 1993 comparison. The next picture is a scan of a pamphlet listing the invasions.
Dinant, Belgium 1910
The buildings in this photograph are different to my photograph in 1993 (there are buildings between the river and the cathedral). This suggests that this photo was taken before the first world war.
Dinant, Belgium, early 20th Century
I can't be sure when this photo was taken, it feels a little newer than my other really old photo of Dinant, but it's certainly quite old: note the complete absence of motor cars.
