Melbourne Zoo November 2006
The Melbourne Zoo has been busy recently: they've opened a new Orang Utang zone and updated many other enclosures. Dennis and I visited the Zoo in November 2006, and I took advantage of my new 70-300mm lens to get real close to the animals.

Meercat! Meercats are SO cute. It's surprising that more people didn't see them for a couple of months back in the 1990s when they lived in the Myer Windows whilst the Zoo's Meercat enclosure was renovated. Meercats are very active, and don't seem to be disturbed by people: so I gather that living in the Myer windows was as much fun for them as for the shoppers.
